TRAI Seeks Public Comment on Caller ID Display for Mobile Phones to Detect Fraudulent Callers, Spam

The TRAI has set a date of December 27 for comments on the paper “Introduction of Calling Name Presenting (CNAP) in Network Systems.”

“Further, DoT has asked TRAI to explore the telecom community readiness and feasibility of providing CNAP facility to all phone subscribers (telephone and feature-telephone proprietors),” TRAI said.

The regulator has sought public comments at the paper by way of December 27 and counter feedback by means of January 10, 2023.
